Biogas to Syngas through the Combined Steam/Dry Reforming Process: An Environmental Impact Assessment
نویسندگان
چکیده
The combined steam/dry reforming (S/DR) technology was used to produce syngas from clean biogas. In the reaction conditions proposed, catalytic bed can produce, without deactivation, a with H2/CO ratio of ?2 directly processable for methanol or Fischer–Tropsch syntheses. Starting laboratory data obtained in industrial conditions, mass and energy balances overall process were Aspen HYSYS simulations. environmental evaluation performed by applying life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology, comparing different scenarios current route (autothermal ATR natural gas). analysis showed that biogas-to-syngas using processes has potential reduce anthropogenic impact on environment. ReCiPe method when S/DR is conducted biogas also as heat source, CO2 balance turns negative, ensuring whole excellent carbon capture utilization (CCU) providing lowest damage all categories. Its improvement would make it possible further burden process, which essential achieving sustainable development.

متن کاملReview on Innovative Catalytic Reforming of Natural Gas to Syngas
Decreasing supplies of high quality crude oil and increasing demand for high quality distillates have motivated the interest in converting natural gas to liquid fuels, especially with the present boom in natural gas proven reserves. Nevertheless, one major issue is the curtailment of costs incurred in producing synthesis gas from natural gas, which account for approximately 60% of the costs use...

متن کاملEnvironmental technology assessment of natural gas compared to biogas
1.1 Historical background In a historical perspective, biogas has been produced since the second half of the 19th century. India and China were among the pioneering countries, where biogas produced from manure and kitchen waste for long time has been used as a fuel for gas cookers and lamps. In Sweden, biogas has been produced at municipal waste water treatment plants since the 1960’s. The prim...
